Matured for around 3 years in oak barrels, this is a cachaça with depth and complexity. Velho Barreiro’s Gold Cachaça was first introduced in 1999 as a limited edition, but has since become part of their core range due to its popularity.
Similar to its unaged sister, the Velho Barreiro Gold Cachaça has pungent notes of fruity cane and a peppery finish, but here, the oak has added a smoky touch to the finish alongside plenty of tannins.
Fermented sugar cane juice is double distilled in a column still, once distilled it’s then aged in Jequitibá Rosa wood barrels (a native timber to South America) for three years.
