An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gin, the first to emerge in Donegal for over 175 years, is a real love letter to its county, with five-types of locally plucked seaweed crammed into the botanical mix and a beautiful bottle that embraces local folklore.
There’s a real umami hit in An Dúlamán Gin, as well as a huge violet-like note. It’s piny, too, with a great slice of citrus cutting through the middle. It doesn’t need much assistance to serve, so a light tonic and sprig of lavender is plenty.
Designed to be ‘of the sea’ rather than ‘of seaweed,’ the An Dúlamán team spent months trialling production methods. All of the ingredients, bar carrageen moss, are placed in the pot, while the moss is vapour infused, to retain freshness.
